Catalina Cruz, the TV news reporter everyone is rooting for, is finally getting a voice! The exceptional voice of professional, human audiobook narrator, Diana Bustelo, that is! 🎉
Here’s what Death Wounds is all about:
A Dead Woman. A Crooked Sheriff. A Reporter Who Won’t Back Down.
Catalina Cruz came to town for her first big TV news assignment.
What she found instead was a gruesome murder,
A sheriff who ruled through fear,
And secrets so dangerous, people were willing to kill to protect them.
As a young Latina reporter determined to prove herself, Catalina is used to being underestimated. But when a small-town murder pulls her into a web of crime, corruption, and long-buried secrets, asking questions becomes dangerous. Standing in her way is a powerful sheriff with a firm grip on the town—and no intention of letting the truth come out.
The deeper Catalina digs, the more deadly the story becomes.
To uncover what really happened, she’ll have to risk everything: her career, her safety, and maybe even her life.
Death Wounds is the gripping first book in the complete 5-book series, Catalina’s Chronicles by Rosa Linda Román—a page-turning conspiracy thriller filled with suspense, corruption, buried secrets, and a fearless female lead readers will root for from page one.
Inspired by Rosa Linda Román’s real life award-winning TV news career, Death Wounds brings chilling realism and authentic reporting detail to a story packed with danger, power, and the deadly cost of telling the truth.

But bottom line is that it will be delivered by the secure, user-friendly platform, BookFunnel. You can listen in any browser or listen on BookFunnel’s audiobook player. I highly recommend you try their excellent audiobook player as I think it rivals Audible’s player for the user listening experience. I know it is a change from some of the big platforms so many of us are used to, and I know old habits sometimes die hard, but personally, I am loving the chance to cut out the middleman and connect with you directly. I worked very hard to build this site using only the most secure, ethical companies while never sacrificing your enjoyment or security throughout the audiobook listening experience, so I hope you’ll consider joining this mini revolution of buying directly from the author and trying a new path. That said, however you listen, I really appreciate your support! Happy listening! -Rosa Linda”
**SPOILER ALERT! DO NOT LISTEN TO “THE AUTHOR’S CUT” BONUS AUDIO UNTIL AFTER LISTENING TO/READING CHAPTERS 1-4 OF DEATH WOUNDS!
