About Rosa Linda

Author Adventurer
Rosa Linda Román

Hello! I’m Author Rosa Linda Román (I go by “Rosa Linda”) and I write conspiracy thrillers and sailing memoirs while splitting my time between our New Mexico home and living on a catamaran with my family.

As a classically trained broadcast journalist, you may remember me reporting or anchoring your local news. (WCTV-Tallahassee, KVIA-El Paso, KOAT-Albuquerque, KSAZ Fox 10-Phoenix, WTVT-Tampa, KION 46-Salinas/Monterey, and others)

These days, I use those real-life stories from my broadcasting career and liveaboard life to write compelling fiction. My now complete, 5-book conspiracy thriller series is called, “Catalina’s Chronicles” and is based on my early years as a TV news reporter.

With the launch of “Catalina’s Chronicles” audiobooks (narrated by the amazing, Diana Bustelo), I also launched “Catalina’s Newsroom” over on my Substack. There, we have engaging conversations about the books, the stories and the characters (like fan favorites Catalina & Marianna Cruz, Sebastian, Maya and, of course, Catalina’s trusty companion, the German Shepherd, Nala). In “Catalina’s Newsroom,” we also have thoughtful discussions about the real-life news stories and research behind this fact-based-fiction.

I hope you’ll come join the conversation:

Looking for a great guest speaker? Let's chat!

As a former mainstream television news reporter & anchor, Amazon best selling author, and frequently full-time traveling mother of three (with a German Shepherd in tow!), I can speak on a wide range of topics. Because of my broadcasting background I have high quality audio and visual equipment and am very comfortable with live or recorded audio or video interviews. I would love to explore the possibility of making a guest appearance on your show or speaking at your event.

A few key topics I can speak about (even last-minute) are:

  • Living Differently with Your Family
  • Being an Indie Author
  • Self-Publishing
  • Sailing in the United States, The Bahamas, Greece & Spain
  • Homeschooling, Boatschooling & Worldschooling
  • Substack: Finding Your Voice & Building Your Audience
  • Livestreaming & Multistreaming
  • Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
  • Embracing Multi-Culturalism (I’m Puerto Rican & German/Irish)
  • The Liveaboard Life
  • Finding Your Authentic Audience
  • On Camera Presence
  • And many, many more topics

My ideal audience tends to include people who value diversity, equity and inclusion. They also love great storytelling, both fiction and non-fiction. Some are partial to my mystery thriller work where I weave stories I covered as a television news reporter into unputdownable novels. Others enjoy my sailing memoirs where I share stories from my family’s liveaboard adventures, including the mindset shifts it takes to pursue our big dreams. And then there are those that benefit from my technical skills in broadcasting, podcasting, livestreaming, self-publishing and filmmaking.

Let’s explore if I would be a good fit for your organization, podcast, book club or event. Click the button below to check my availability and schedule a call so we can chat at your convenience:
